DLĀLAH AL-MANṬŪQ AND ITS IMPACTS ON TAFSĪR AL-TAḤRĪR WA TANWĪR BY TĀHIR IBN-I- ʿĀSHŪR (R.A.)
Keywords:Ibn ʿĀshūr, Verbal Indication, Dalālah al-Manṭūq, Tafsīr al-Taḥrīr wa Tanwīr
The Holy Quran is the first source of Shariah. It is the basis of the principles for deriving the rulings of the Shari'ah, the basis of the most sacred texts, rulings, purposes, wisdom and secrets behind the Shari'ah. The researcher tries to mention the effect of the verbal indications (Dalālah al-Manṭūq) in the exegesis within this research. There is a necessity to study deductions and inferences through verbal indications, so it has a great impact on clarifying meanings and deducing rulings.
Tafsīr al-Taḥrīr wa Tanwīr was one of the most prominent exegeses that focused on the verbal indication’s approach for clarifying the Quranic Sharia Judgments. And of course, studying this topic through the exegesis of Imam Tāhir bin ʿĀshūr (R. A.) made the topic more valuable and useful, as he combines his exegesis with both originality and modernity. Imam Tāhir bin ʿĀshūr (R. A.) has indeed liberated the correct meaning and enlightened the new contemporary mind in terms of deducing Sharia’s judgments and inferring from the verbal indications. Through this research, the researcher answers the approach of Imam Tāhir bin ʿĀshūr (R. A.) in his exegesis with regard to inference from the verbal indication, which was the most prominent difference between Ibn ʿĀshūr (R. A.) and others with regard to the inference from the verbal-indications (Dalālah al-Manṭūq).
